VCSU shows 18 percent first-day enrollment hikeVALLEY CITY, N.D. – Valley City State University on Tuesday reported an 18 percent enrollment increase over this time last year.
The university had 1,190 students on its first full day of classes, including its largest freshman class since 1988. Last year’s first-day head count was 1,007 students.
Officials attribute the growth to new initiatives aimed at increasing enrollment and giving students more opportunities.
Final enrollment figures will be reported during the fourth week of fall semester.
Several other North Dakota colleges and universities planned to report first-day enrollment figures today.
