Enrollment up at Valley City State University, including largest freshman class since 1988VALLEY CITY, N.D. - Valley City State University reported today a nearly 10 percent enrollment increase over this time last year.
The university has 1,190 students on its first full day of classes, including the largest freshman class since 1988.
Officials attribute the growth to new initiatives aimed at increasing enrollment and giving students more opportunities.
The preliminary freshman enrollment is 226, a 46 percent increase over last year.
Final enrollment figures will be reported during the fourth week of fall semester.
North Dakota State University, the University of North Dakota and Mayville State University plan to report their first-day figure on Wednesday.
