Fargo teen injured when car hits treeA 16-year-old Fargo boy was seriously injured when the vehicle he was riding in crashed into a tree early Monday in south Fargo, police said.
A 17-year-old Fargo boy was driving the vehicle at a high rate of speed when he tried to turn and lost control, striking a tree in the lot at 1445 6th Ave. S., police Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
The teens left the vehicle on foot. Officers arrived and noticed damage consistent with heads striking the windshield, as well as blood in the vehicle, Lykken said.
Police found the driver and passenger walking about half a block away.
The passenger was taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital for what was described as a serious head injury, Lykken said.
The driver was arrested for DUI.
