Weekend Watch: Dan Francis and Deb Wallwork receptions
Two photographers. Two different shows at two different locations. Two distinct visions. One similar point of focus. Deb Wallwork and Dan Francis have different ways of seeing things. Her photos are influenced by her work as a documentary filmmaker, his by the historical photos taken decades before he was born. Yet both shooters capture how people interact with the landscape, whether the result is considered progress or an imposition on nature. Francis unveils his visual overlays of historic and contemporary downtown scenes, “Fargo: Past and Present,” at an opening from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Spirit Room, 111 Broadway. (701) 237-0230. Wallwork’s new show, “Paradise,” opens Sunday at the Rourke Art Gallery, 523, 4th St. S., Moorhead, with a reception from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and a gallery talk at 2 p.m. (218) 236-8861.
