Pawlenty orders flags at half-staff for Dewey

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty ordered that all U.S. and Minnesota flags fly at half-staff today in honor of Mahnomen Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Dewey.

The memorial service is today for Dewey, who was shot in the line of duty in February 2009 and died last week.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and the memorial service begins at 11 in Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park.

The governor’s proclamation applies to all U.S. and Minnesota flags flying at state and federal buildings throughout Minnesota.
