Weather delays work at downtown Gate CityInclement weather has kept a crane sitting outside of the Downtown Fargo Gate City building at 500 2nd Ave. N., according to Steve Swiontek, chairman, president and CEO of Gate City.
Crews are repairing the roof after Gate City removed its old sign as part of a $4.1 million renovation project that began last summer.
Swiontek said crews can’t work during thunderstorms and lightning, so “the crane has been there a little bit longer” than expected.
Another crane will be outside the building in about three weeks to install a new sign, Swiontek said. He said that crane could be at the site for a while as well if the weather is not calm enough.
Ideally, the second crane would arrive on a Sunday, and crews would install the sign the following day.
