Moorhead police offer citizens police academyThe Moorhead Police Department is offering a citizens police academy, open to anyone in the city age 18 and older.
The free 10-week program will be from 6 to 9 Thursday evenings starting Sept. 16, with the final class on Nov. 16. Some of the topics to be presented include:
- Patrol officer hiring, training and equipment.
- Use of force and officer safety concerns.
- Investigative division, crime scene investigation and evidence collection.
- Computer crimes.
- Investigative division.
- Traffic stops and firearms.
- SWAT and K9.
