HOT, HOT, HOT: Chance of storms tonight will kick off hot, humid week in Red River Valley

A chance of severe storms tonight will kick off a hot and humid week in the Red River Valley, according to websites for the National Weather Service and The Weather Channel.

Temperatures may reach 87 degrees today with high humidity and winds up to 25 mph.

There will be a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers after 4 p.m. today in Fargo-Moorhead. Some storms could douse the area with heavy rain.

Sunday looks mostly sunny and hot, with temperatures reaching the low 90s and a heat index of 96 degrees because of high humidity.

There is also a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening.

Monday’s high will be near 92 degrees with a 50 percent chance of rain and humidity in the 61 percent range.

Tuesday’s high is 89 degrees with a 30 percent chance of showers and 77 percent humidity.

Wednesday looks to have a high of 89 degrees with only a slight chance of precipitation and 71 percent humidity.

Thursday has a high of 85 degrees with 69 percent humidity.

Friday’s high is near 83 degrees with 67 percent humidity.
