Trade Talk: CVS adding Dilworth location

CVS/pharmacy is building a Dilworth location on the corner of Highway 10 and 34th Street.

It will have a full-service pharmacy with a drive-through window, health and beauty departments, digital photo processing, convenience foods and general merchandise.

The store is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011, according to Mike DeAngelis, CVS/pharmacy public relations director.

There are three other CVS/pharmacy stores in the Fargo-Moorhead area: 1321 19th Ave. N., Fargo; 822 30th Ave. S., Moorhead; and 2401 13th Ave. S., Fargo.

CVS/pharmacy is the retail division of CVS Caremark Corp. The company operates more than 7,000 CVS/pharmacy and Longs Drugs stores.

New Fargo store offers wedding supplies

Wedding Day Elegance, a wedding supply company, has opened in Fargo.

The shop opened at 616 Main Ave., the same location as Princess Party Boutique, a store available for birthday parties, tea parties and makeover parties, where girls can dress up in princess dresses, shoes and jewelry.

Debbie Inocencio of Grand Forks, who owns both businesses, has operated a Wedding Day Elegance business in Grand Forks for a few years and has been getting interest from the Fargo area, she said.

The Fargo Wedding Day Elegance opened two weeks ago. The shop offers bridal supplies and rentals of wedding decoration items such as chair covers, punch fountains, candelabras and lighted arches.

The store also offers reception hall setup and tear-down, Inocencio said.

“I do everything on-hand. I stock everything myself, so I have a pretty big supply of stuff on hand, and I can accommodate last-minute requests,” Inocencio said.

Wedding Day Elegance is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Sober Drive serves as designated driver

Fargo business Sober Drive operates as a designated driver for hire, providing drivers to take a person who has been drinking (and their vehicle) home.

The business, owned by Levi Mertz of Fargo, opened in December. It operates from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. and has six employees.

“We needed more companies like this,” Mertz said as to why he decided to start his business.
