Repairs, lane closures continue on I-94 bridgesMotorists will encounter lane closures on Interstate 94 this week as crews make repairs to the Red River bridges between Fargo and Moorhead.
Traffic was reduced to one lane Thursday so crews could grind the concrete portion between the bridges and Moorhead’s Eighth Street South, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said in a statement.
Lane markings will be applied today and Monday, requiring frequent lane shifts, but two lanes of traffic will always be maintained, MnDOT said.
The I-94 bridges are scheduled to be completed and open to traffic on Tuesday, but local motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes.
Crews will also begin work Tuesday on the Main Avenue Red River bridge.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction while a seal coat is applied to protect the roadway from moisture and salt. The project should finish by the end of next week, Mn/DOT said.
