Purdon confirmed as US attorney for North Dakota
The Senate confirmed Purdon’s nomination, along with 20 other U.S. attorney and U.S. marshal nominees, by voice votes tonight.
With the Senate’s confirmation, Purdon has cleared the final hurdle in the monthslong nomination process that began in early February. He will officially become the state’s U.S. attorney once he is sworn in to office at an undetermined date.
North Dakota has been without an official U.S. attorney since September 2009 when Drew Wrigley resigned from the post, which is in charge of prosecuting the state’s federal cases.
