Minneapolis pastor back in pulpit after gay reportMINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Lutheran pastor in Minneapolis known for his conservative views on homosexuality has acknowledged that he is attracted to men himself.
The Rev. Tom Brock of Hope Lutheran Church told The Associated Press on Monday that he is sexually attracted to men but has never acted on those feelings.
Brock's sexuality became an issue after a gay magazine reported on his membership in a support group for Christians battling same-sex attraction. Brock was put on leave while a church task force looked into the report.
Hope Lutheran's executive pastor says the task force found Brock credible, and he returned to the pulpit on Sunday.
Brock says he now hopes to reach a national TV audience with a message that Christianity can help overcome temptation.
