The Big Bang gets a little help from friends

The Big Bang announced a special guest this week for their reunion show at the Fargo Blues Fest on Saturday.

No, it’s not “Kid” Jonny Lang, the singer/guitarist who came up with the group when they all lived in Fargo in the mid-1990s. Instead, it’s the “Kid’s” kid sister.

Jesse Langseth, now 27, used to hang out backstage at the Big Bang shows when her older brother was still a teen, explained drummer Michael Rey Larsen. He didn’t say which song Langseth would sing.

Langseth was a finalist in the 2009 season of “American Idol” and most recently has performed in Brat Pack Radio.

Also joining the group will be keyboardist Bruce McCabe, who played with Lang as a solo artist and wrote Lang’s biggest hit, “Lie to Me.”

McCabe will also appear with the Big Bang when they host the after-show party in the basement of the VFW, 202 Broadway, Fargo, on Saturday night. Big George Jackson hosts Friday’s party. Both shows start at 10 p.m.
