Sioux track coach Grandall steps down after 31 yearsGRAND FORKS – University of North Dakota head men’s track and field and cross country coach Mike Grandall stepped down Tuesday after 31 years with the program.
As the Sioux’s longest-tenured head coach, Grandall has overseen nine individual NCAA champions, 58 All-Americans and 29 academic All-Americans.
Grandall has spent the last 28 years at the helm of the track and cross country programs. He is a native of Lignite, N.D., where he won the state Class B title in the 100- and 220-yard dashes, and is a 1970 graduate of Minot State.
