Part of 45th Street to reopen on MondayThe stretch of 45th Street between 32nd and 40th avenues south should reopen in time for Monday evening’s rush hour, Fargo officials announced Thursday.
The road was closed in March as part of the 45th Street reconstruction. This section is reopening five weeks ahead of schedule because of good weather conditions and contractor scheduling, the city said.
The second mile in the $15 million reconstruction project should be complete in October.
Crews expanded the roadway from a two-lane asphalt street to a six-lane concrete split roadway. Shared-use paths, street lights, curbs and gutters also were added, and the bridge over Drain 27 was widened.
