Repairs under way at MSCTC Wadena

WADENA, Minn. – Repair work on the Minnesota State Community and Technical College campus here damaged by a June 17 tornado should be mostly done by fall semester.

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities board of trustees approved a contract Wednesday for restoration work to the Wadena campus.

The college’s main building was severely damaged and three other buildings on campus also were affected.

The estimated cost for repairs is $3 million to $5 million. Insurance proceeds will be the primary source of funds. The college also anticipates applying for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Most work is expected to be done by late August.
