Roesler just misses qualifying for World Junior finalsMONCTON, New Brunswick – Recent Fargo South graduate Laura Roesler came within an eyelash from advancing to the 800-meter finals at the IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships on Wednesday.
Roesler finished fourth in her heat with a season-best time of 2 minutes, 4.34 seconds. The top two finishers in each of three heats and the next two fastest times advanced to the finals.
Roesler was edged by USA teammate and New Jersey high school sophomore Ajee Wilson (2:04.33) for the final qualifying spot. Wilson was third in her heat.
Roesler will be a freshman at the University of Oregon next season.
