Family decides to start Marilyn Barge InviteThe Fargo Country Club is starting a Marilyn Barge Invitational golf tournament to benefit a NDSU golf endowment fund started by Derald and Marilyn Barge. She is a former Bison golf coach who died last year.
The 18-hole, flighted stroke play tournament open to any woman with a USGA handicap is next Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Mike Barge, Hazeltine National Golf Club teaching professional in Chaska, Minn., and Marilyn’s son, will be hitting shots on hole No. 7 as part of an added game. Only 15 of the allotted 72 spots are remaining.
