Trade Talk: Coin shop moves

What was once the Ethan Allen furniture store across from West Acres mall in Fargo will soon become the new home of Treasure Island Coins Inc.

Treasure Island Coins Inc. recently purchased the building, 1429 42nd St. S., and hopes to move to this new location by October. Treasure Island Coins is currently located at 1002 43rd St. S. in Fargo.

Sales and Marketing Manager Jack Seaman said the new location will be the premiere outlet in the region and possibly the nation for buying and selling gold and silver.

But it will be more than just a store when the renovation is complete, according to Seaman. It will be more like a financial center, with a high-end look and feel, he said. Among its new features will be a 1,000-square-foot vault with a public access side to buy gold and silver.

Treasure Island Coins Inc. buys and sells, wholesale and retail, all types of gold, silver, platinum and palladium, according to its website.

Treasure Island carries products from most of the major precious metals mints and refineries, including the American Eagle line of bullion products, Canadian Maple Leafs, Perth Mint bars and other fine precious metal products.

Ethan Allen announced in January that it was closing its Fargo store to consolidate it into the Minneapolis store.

West Fargo preschool now in new location

Apple Tree Preschool in West Fargo has moved from the Lodoen Community Center to 117 Main Ave. E. The preschool moved June 1 because the West Fargo School District plans to move more middle school students into the center, said Kelly Thompson, who owns Apple Tree Preschool with Jayne Mapes.

The licensed preschool offers four different classes for children ages 3 to 5. Apple Tree works with children on pre-reading skills, science, cooking and music, Thompson said. The preschool works around a theme and a letter for each week.

Children can attend two or three days per week in either the mornings or afternoons.

The center opened five years ago.

Herbalife nutrition club now open in south Fargo

We told you last week about a new Herbalife nutrition club at 1450 25th St. S. in Fargo. Now another similar shop has open farther south and west.

SouthSide Fusion opened at 4040 42nd St. S. on Monday.

The club offers meal replacement protein shakes that can be used to lose weight, to build muscle mass and to maintain a healthy lifestyle, a news release stated.

Peggy Getzloff, Sherry Stoa, and Alison Lammers, all independent Herbalife distributors, started SouthSide Fusion, which is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Herbalife is a global network marketing company that sells weight-management, nutrition and personal-care products through a network of about 1.9 million independent distributors.
