UPDATE: Tornado warning in effect for Clay, Mahnomen, Norman and Becker counties8:55 p.m.
Four counties in west-central Minnesota remain in a tornado warning until 9 tonight.
The warning, issued the National Weather Service, includes northeastern Clay, southwestern Mahnomen, northeastern Norman and northwestern Becker counties in Minnesota.
At 8:39 p.m., the weather service's Doppler radar showed a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado northeast of Hitterdal.
The storm is heading east at 35 mph and could affect Audubon at about 8:55 p.m.
Those in the path of the storm are urged to abandon cars and mobile homes for a sturdy building.
