Deer-motorcycle crash injures two FargoansHAWLEY, Minn. – Two Fargo residents were injured Sunday when a deer hit their motorcycle on Highway 10 near Hawley, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
The motorcycle was westbound about 7:21 p.m. when the deer came out of the north ditch and hit the right side of the motorcycle, the patrol stated in a news release.
The 1997 Harley Davidson went onto its side, and both the driver, Mark Bernstein, 54, and his passenger, Ginger Meyer, 53, rolled away from the motorcycle, the release stated. They were not wearing helmets.
Bernstein suffered head injuries and was airlifted to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, where he was listed in satisfactory condition Monday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Meyer was treated at MeritCare and released.
