First night of Red River Valley Fair attracts 5,800 for Rodney Atkins, Tesla tonightThough he didn't have attendance numbers available, General Manager Bryan Schulz said the first day of the Red River Valley Fair "was pretty darn good."
Schulz said food vendors were happy with the crowds during the fair's noon-time lunch session - which featured free gate admission and the dinosaurs exhibit was a popular attraction. And he said there was an estimated 5,800 people in the grandstand Friday night to hear country musician Rodney Atkins. The concert crowd size is an estimate because fair concerts are free with paid gate admission of $7.
Today's attendance could be better as Schulz said he's heard a lot of people looking forward to tonight's grandstand draw, the rock band Tesla. "From the word we're hearing on the street .. this is a band people are excited about," he said. Tonight's concert starts at 8 p.m.
The fair continues at the fairgrounds in West Fargo through July 17.
