Top House Republican to join Berg today in North Dakota

A member of House Republican leadership is visiting North Dakota today to support Fargo legislator and GOP House candidate Rick Berg.

Republican Deputy Whip Kevin McCarthy, a congressman from California’s 22nd District, will join Berg during two news conferences scheduled for today in Minot and Fargo.

According to a statement from Berg’s campaign, the pair “will discuss Congress’ failure to pass a budget for the first time since 1974.”

The Fargo event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at Berg’s campaign headquarters, 1321 23rd St. S., and is open to the public.

McCarthy’s visit comes on the heels of a GOP fundraiser and rally on June 22 and 23 in the Fargo area that featured prominent Republican Mitt Romney, a 2008 presidential candidate and former Massachusetts governor.
