Several people laid off from Microsoft's Fargo campusFARGO - Several people were laid off from Microsoft’s Fargo campus Wednesday, a company spokeswoman said today.
Katie Hasbargen, a Fargo Microsoft spokeswoman, would not say specifically how many there were, but that it was “incremental at best.”
“They’re really part of a normal business cycle,” Hasbargen said, adding that Microsoft’s fiscal year ended June 30.
The Seattle Times reported that Microsoft is cutting a few hundred jobs companywide.
The reductions are far smaller, locally and nationally, than Microsoft’s 2009 cuts of 5,800 employees. About 60 to 70 people were laid off in Fargo during two rounds of layoffs.
