Son accused of threats to mom’s trust officer

A Marion, N.D., man has been charged in Cass County District Court with terrorizing, accused of threatening the conservator of his mother’s estate, court records state.

Wayne Joel Chris Anderson, 59, was arraigned on the felony charge Tuesday and is scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 5.

Anderson left phone messages in which he threatened to shoot a trust officer at First International Bank and Trust in Fargo, police allege in court documents.

In one call, he said he likes to shoot varmints and said the bank employee is a varmint, according to court records. Anderson talked about shooting the man in the knees in another voice mail, court records state.

Bank workers told police Anderson is upset that the bank oversees his mother’s finances, court records state.

Anderson admitted that he left the messages, police allege, but said he wouldn’t harm anyone. He told police he was trying to get the trust officer at First International fired by using “political persuasion.”
