Oakes man to serve 5 years on child porn chargesFARGO - An Oakes, N.D., man has been sentenced to serve five years in prison for possessing child pornography on his computer.
Aaron Potts, 26, pleaded guilty in April to the federal charges, which accused him of possessing about 96 video files that depicted “graphic sexual abuse of prepubescent children,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Fargo.
After the prison term, Potts will be on supervised release for 10 years. He’s also required to register as a sex offender, according to the sentence handed down Wednesday by U.S. District Court Judge Ralph R. Erickson.
