Tattoos are bad, but abortions are OK?

I see Minnesota has a new law effective July 1 prohibiting tattoo artists from performing services for minors, even with parents’ permission.

Minnesota has another law pertaining to minors. A young woman under 18 may not obtain an abortion unless she has notified her parents of her decision. She can still have the abortion whether or not they consent.

Minnesota lawmakers are concerned for minors because tattoos are permanent. They want to make sure it’s what they want. I wonder if tattoo parlors will file an injunction because they are restricting tattoos? After all, one restriction leads to another.

The state says no tattoos for minors, but that same minor gets to make the decision on whether to have an abortion, as long as the parents know about it. This makes absolutely no sense. How can Minnesota lawmakers put more value on tattoos than human life? These are laws made by intelligent people, right?

We as a society need to take a look at ourselves and get it right. Honestly.
