Man dies in apparent drowning in Minn. lakeLAKE CALHOUN, Minn. (AP) - Hennepin County authorities say a 27-year-old man has died in an apparent drowning at Lake Calhoun.
The man's name hasn't been released.
The sheriff's office says the man was swimming with a friend Friday at Thomas Beach at the south end of the lake.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Lisa Kiava says the friend noticed the man had gone under about 9 p.m. and failed to resurface. The friend and others called for help and scrambled to find him.
The Star Tribune reports that emergency responders found him in about 6 feet of water. He was given CPR and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
