ND GOP chairman resigns; PSCer Clark says he'd serve as chairmanBISMARCK (AP) — Public Service Commissioner Tony Clark says he'd be willing to be the temporary chairman of North Dakota's Republican Party.
Incumbent chairman Gary Emineth has resigned. Emineth says Clark has been approached about taking the position.
Clark has been a state utility regulator since 2000. He's a former state legislator and labor commissioner. He says he'd be open to serving as party chairman until November.
Clark believes he'd be able to balance his elected job with the party chairmanship, which is a part-time, volunteer position.
One of Clark's Public Service Commission colleagues, Kevin Cramer, is a former state Republican chairman and party director. Cramer is running for re-election this year.
