West Fargo Patriots go 5-1 at Omaha tourney

OMAHA, Neb. – Tanner Dahl went 1-for-2 and knocked in a run that gave the West Fargo Patriots an early 1-0 lead over Lake Charles (La.), but it wasn’t enough as Lake Charles took the 9-1 win on Sunday at the Battle for Omaha American Legion baseball tournament.

The Patriots (12-7) finished the tournament 5-1, going 5-0 in pool play.

West Fargo posted two wins late Saturday by defeating Lincoln 13-8 in the first game and besting Omaha Northwest 9-6 in the second game.

Colby Schmidt went 3-for-4 with a home run in the win over Lincoln.

Spencer Flaten homered on the first pitch of the game in the Patriots’ win over Omaha Northwest.
