US Senate committee to consider North Dakota nominee

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider the nominee for North Dakota’s U.S. attorney during a hearing today on Capitol Hill.

President Barack Obama nominated Bismarck attorney Timothy Purdon for the post in early February.

Approval by the Judiciary Committee is the next step in the confirmation process.

Lynn C. Jordheim has served as North Dakota’s acting U.S. attorney since September, when Bush appointee Drew Wrigley resigned.
