Fargo police plan traffic blitz in 45th Street construction zoneFARGO – A Fargo Police Department traffic blitz is planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in the 45th Street construction area south of Interstate 94.
The traffic safety blitz is designed to reduce speeds in the construction area, according to a news release. The minimum fine for speeding in a construction zone with workers present is $80. The enforcement effort will focus on speeding and seat-belt violations.
A majority of traffic fatalities in North Dakota are the result of impaired driving, distracted driving, speed and lack of seat-belt use. The goal of the traffic safety blitz is to help reduce deaths, serious injuries and the economic losses associated with motor vehicle crashes by focusing on two of the four behaviors.
