Sen. Klobuchar tours hard-hit WadenaUPDATED 12:55 p.m.
WADENA, Minn. - City leaders got emotional today as they showed Sen. Amy Klobuchar the devastation left behind from Thursday's tornadoes.
"It is just absolutely a gift from God that more people weren't hurt or killed," Klobuchar said as she surveyed damage to the high school, the adjacent community center and surrounding homes.
Access to the southwest portion of this city of about 4,300 continues to be restricted to due to concerns about downed power lines and hazardous debris.
Volunteers are not being sought at this time because it's not yet safe.
Two people have been treated for injuries related to debris removal, said Judy Jacobs, the public information officer.
A public meeting will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. Ann's Catholic School.
