Registration opens for deer hunting programFARGO – Registration is open for hunters who want to participate in Fargo’s 2010-2011 Deer Management Program.
The program uses trained archery hunters to manage the urban deer population in city limits.
Participants must attend one training session and pass a proficiency test to be eligible to apply for a special archery permit from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, according to a news release from the city.
Fargo police, in conjunction with the Fargo Park District, Game and Fish Department and the North Dakota Bowhunters Association, will conduct training and certification for the program from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on July 20, 21 and 22.
