Authorities: 3 killed in Rochester, Minn., plane crash

ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) — A private twin-engine plane narrowly missed a house and crashed into woodland in Rochester overnight, leaving at least three people dead.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory says the plane crashed about two miles northwest of Rochester International Airport shortly before midnight Wednesday.

Cory says at least three people died in the fiery crash.

Investigators are still checking on whether there were any more victims. They've been able to retrieve the plane's tail number but haven't released it. The plane's origin and destination are still under investigation.

Federal investigators are expected to arrive on the scene later Thursday.
