Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Grand ForksGRAND FORKS, N.D. – An East Grand Forks, Minn., man faces an attempted murder charge after a stabbing at a Grand Forks apartment late Tuesday.
According to a release from the Grand Forks Police Department, officers received a report of a fight in progress at 817 36th Ave. S. Before officers arrived, dispatch was notified that a man had been stabbed.
Clarence Michael Clauthier, 32, of Grand Forks, was stabbed four times in the upper torso. Clauthier was transported to Altru Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
According to witnesses, a suspect had fled the scene on foot before officers arrived. After a search of the area, officers located the suspect, Trevor Zahradka, 20, of East Grand Forks, a short distance from the scene.
A knife was recovered from where Zahradka was found. Zahradka was arrested and charged with attempted murder, a Class A felony. He was transported to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
