Boys golf: Moorhead picks up boys golf title

SAUK CENTRE, Minn. - Moorhead sophomore Ben Welle earned medalist honors by shooting a two-day total of 145 as the Spuds won the Minnesota Class 3A, Section 8 boys golf championship on Thursday at GreyStone Golf Club.

Moorhead's two-day score of 586 was 19 shots better than second-place Alexandria.

The Spuds had four of the top five individual finishes at the meet.

Team scores: Moorhead 586, Alexandria 605, Brainerd 625, Fergus Falls 634, St. Cloud Tech 639, Buffalo 650.
