ND regulators monitoring Harvey flour companyNorth Dakota regulators are working with a Harvey flour mill company to make sure farmers who sell grain to Earth Harvest Mills get paid in a timely manner.
The Public Service Commission decided against issuing a cease-and-desist order, saying it would put the company out of business. The PSC instead is asking Earth Harvest Mills to open a new line of credit so it can make appropriate payments to farmers.
PSC inspectors and staff had recommended the order after inspectors found the company wasn't properly paying farmers and also was storing grain in unlicensed bins.
There have been no formal complaints against the company, which does business as Dakota Prairie Organic Flour. President Eric Hoberg did not immediately return a telephone call to The Associated Press on Thursday seeking comment.
