North Dakota student receives SADD honorStudents Against Destructive Decisions, the national school-based, peer-to-peer prevention, education and activism organization, has named Jessica Roscoe of New Rockford, N.D., the 2010-11 National SADD Student of the Year.
Roscoe is a senior at New Rockford-Sheyenne High School and has been active in SADD for six years. She served as the North Dakota SADD Student of the Year in 2009-10 and has been a member of the Northern Lights Advisory Board for the past two years.
Roscoe’s accomplishments while serving as Northern Lights SADD Student of the Year included developing awareness and fundraising campaign to aid those affected by the Haiti earthquake, instituting a “best practices” database for North Dakota SADD chapters, and providing testimony during the North Dakota legislative session.
