Interstate 94 traffic reduced to one lane each direction near Fargo's 45th Street South

FARGO - Driving on Interstate 94 at the Fargo 45th Street South interchange will be down to one through travel lane in each direction until the end of the week, the North Dakota Department of Transportation announced today.

In addition, both eastbound lanes of I-94 will be closed overnight tonight so beams can be placed at the interchange.

Eastbound I-94 travelers will be detoured up the southwest ramp, across 45th Street, down the southeast ramp, and back onto I-94. The eastbound lanes will be closed from about 8 tonight until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Traffic going east on I-94 from 45th Street will use the southeast ramp instead of the southwest loop ramp during the closure, the DOT announced.

Construction crews will lay road base material and preparing lanes and the new northeast loop ramp for paving during the closures, the DOT announced.

Speed limits will be reduced to 40 mph on the interstate and 25 mph on 45th Stree.

Motorists should expect rush hour delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes.
