Roesler falls in 100 meter finalsBISMARCK, N.D. -- Morgan Milbrath proved the prelims were no fluke.
After setting a state record in the 100-meter dash on Friday at the North Dakota state track meet, the Minot freshman beat four-time defending state champion Laura Roesler of Fargo South in the 100 finals on Saturday at Community Bowl.
The loss in Roesler's first final of the day snaps her streak of winning titles in the 100, 200, 400 and 800. She had won those four events four years in a row. No other North Dakota athlete has accomplished that feat even once.
Milbreath won in 12.35 seconds, out-leaning Roesler (12.38) at the finish line.
