Fargo police issue 82 citations in 45th Street construction zoneFARGO – Fargo police issued 82 citations, including 19 for seat-belt violations, during a traffic safety blitz today between 7:30 and 11:30 a.m. in the 45th Street construction area south of Interstate 94.
Of the 82 citations issued, 61 were for speeding in a construction zone with workers present, which carries a minimum fine of $80, according to a news release issued by the Police Department. Officers also issued one citation for driving under suspension. That male was also arrested for outstanding warrants out of Cass and Grand Forks counties.
Some officers working the traffic blitz were funded through a grant from the North Dakota Department of Transportation as part of the Click It or Ticket campaign. The Click It or Ticket campaign runs through June 6.
After three traffic blitzes this week, Fargo Police have issued a total of 260 citations, which includes 82 for seat-belt violations.
