UPDATED: Twin Cities nurses say they've set one-day strike for June 10

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Some 12,000 nurses in the Twin Cities have set a one-day strike for June 10 if they can't come to agreement with 14 hospitals.

The nurses and the hospitals recently agreed to return to the bargaining table with a federal mediator. But the Minnesota Nurses Association said Friday it was filing notice of intent to strike if those talks don't work out. That starts the clock on a required 10-day notice.

The two sides disagree on issues of pay and staffing levels. The nurses voted last week to authorize a strike.
