Weekend Watch: Jewel
Until the summer of 2008, the only Alaskan female most Americans could name was Jewel Kilcher. Times have changed, and so has the singer/songwriter who burst onto the national music scene in 1996 with pop-folk singles like “You Were Meant for Me,” “Who Will Save Your Soul” and “Foolish Games.” In 2003 she set aside the guitar for the dance album, “0304,” and returned two years ago with a country album. Her second Nashville spin, “Sweet and Wild,” hits stores June 8, and Jewel is working some of the newer tunes into her set Tuesday at the Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway. Tickets for the all-ages show are $46. (800) 514-3849.
