Two teens injured in separate bike-vehicle accidents

MOORHEAD – Police here say a 15-year-old boy suffered scrapes and bruises Tuesday when a car clipped the back tire of the bicycle he was riding.

The teenager was riding with a friend at about 6 p.m. at Third Street and 18th Avenue South when a vehicle described as a black two-door car with tinted windows hit his rear tire, Moorhead Police Lt. Tory Jacobson said

The car fled the scene, and police were unable to find it, he said.

Police in West Fargo also responded to a bicycle-vehicle accident Tuesday evening.

A 13-year-old girl riding in the crosswalk of Prairie Parkway and Ninth Street East was knocked off her bicycle by a pickup entering the intersection.

The girl sustained a slight hand injury and cut to her leg and was taken to Innovis Hospital in Fargo, West Fargo Assistant Police Chief Mike Reitan said.

The pickup’s driver was not cited, he said.
