Northbound I-35 remains closed in Lakeville after fatal four-vehicle crash involving load of beesLAKEVILLE, Minn. (AP) — Northbound Interstate 35 remains closed in Lakeville after a fatal four-vehicle crash that included a semi hauling a load of bees.
Minnesota State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske says the bees that have hampered responders are now being transferred to another truck. He says it's still not clear how long the northbound lanes will remain closed.
One person is confirmed dead, while one person was airlifted to a hospital. That victim's condition was not immediately available.
Two semis and two passenger cars were involved in the crash about 11:30 a.m. Monday. Crews had to use a fire hose to keep the bees at bay, and the spokesman says a few responders got stung.
The crash also forced the temporary closure of a southbound lane.
