Bison eliminated from NCAA Division I softball tournamentNorth Dakota State's softball team saw its season come to an end on the West Coast late Saturday night.
The Bison lost to Nebraska 5-1 in the Seattle Regional of the NCAA Division I softball tournament on Saturday, one night after losing to Washington 3-0. The two losses mean NDSU is eliminated from the double-elimination tournament.
A lengthy rain delay led to the game's late-night completion.
The Bison scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut Nebraska's lead to 2-1. But the Huskers scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to help preserve the victory.
Nebraska will play North Carolina at 2 p.m. today in a loser-out game. That game was to be played Saturday, but the delay in NDSU's game pushed the next game to today.
