Weekend Watch: Eyes on the skyFriday, Sunday and Monday
With clear skies, amateur astronomers can reclaim their favorite pastime, and Minnesota State University organizations are here to help. Friday night the MSUM Science Center at Buffalo State Park, Minn., offers a chance to learn more about the most identifiable planet through “Saturn: Lord of the Rings,” with telescope viewings. The event runs from 9 to 11 p.m. (218) 477-2904. Speaking of telescopes, learn about the instrument’s inventor and his studies in “Galileo: The Power of the Telescope.” The MSUM Planetarium show starts at 2 p.m. Sunday and again at 7 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $3 for general admission and $1.50 for students, senior citizens and kids 12 and younger. (218) 477-2920.
