United Way of Cass-Clay names new presidentFARGO – United Way of Cass-Clay has named Melinda Haun as its new president.
Haun most recently served as the president and chief professional officer of United Way of Chippewa County in Chippewa Falls, Wis.
Haun starts her new position June 16.
She replaces Judy Green, who resigned in February to become executive director of marketing for women’s services for Sanford Health-MeritCare.
Haun has been with United Way of Chippewa County for the past 15 years.
She said it was a difficult decision to leave, but professionally, she was looking for a position that would be challenging in the longer term.
Jeffrey Slaby, United Way of Cass-Clay’s 2010 Board of Trustees chairman and search committee chairman, said 34 candidates from around the country applied for the position and Haun has both United Way experience and ties to the community.
Haun is originally from St. Thomas, N.D., and graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
She also held the positions of vice president and director of community resources/evaluation at United Way of Cass-Clay from 1984 to 1993.
