2 new swine flu deaths reported in MinnesotaST. PAUL (AP) — The death toll from swine flu in Minnesota has risen to 63 after the Health Department officially attributed two deaths last fall to the pandemic virus.
The Minnesota Health Department released its weekly update of flu statistics on Wednesday and reported that deaths in September 2009 and November 2009 were caused by the virus.
However, the department reports that currently there is little flu activity in Minnesota as the state moves out of the traditional flu season.
The department reports there have been 63 deaths attributed to swine flu, two due to seasonal flu and seven from unspecified types of flu virus.
